Eligibility

Who can sell?

Marketplace is open to sellers who can stand behind what they list — whether that is a registered company or a single merchant building a brand.

  • Registered companies

Incorporated businesses trading under a registered name.

  • Verified independent merchants

Individual sellers who complete identity verification.

  • Manufacturers

Producers selling their own goods directly to customers.

  • Retailers

Established shops extending their trade online.

  • Authorised distributors

Resellers with permission to sell the brands they list.

All applications remain subject to verification, marketplace suitability and category-specific requirements. Meeting one of the descriptions above does not by itself guarantee approval.

What you get

Why sell on Marketplace?

Every item below is built and available to approved vendors today. Nothing here describes a feature we intend to add later.

  • A dedicated public storefront

Once your store is approved it gets its own public page with your name, logo, banner and catalogue.

  • Product and inventory management

Create products, manage stock levels and adjust prices from your dashboard.

  • Central order management

Every order for your products arrives in one queue with its full history.

  • Customer order-status updates

Fulfilment statuses you set are shown to the customer, so they are not left guessing.

  • Earnings and commission transparency

Each sale shows the gross amount, the deductions applied and what you earned.

  • Payout requests from your dashboard

Request a payout of your eligible balance yourself — no email chasing.

  • Return and support workflows

Returns, refunds and support conversations are tracked in the same place as the order.

  • Moderation and administrative oversight

Stores and products are reviewed, which keeps the marketplace worth appearing in.

  • Vendor analytics and exports

Sales reporting in the dashboard, with CSV exports of your own data.

  • Advertisement tools

Optional paid placements are available to approved vendors who want extra visibility.

The process

How it works

This is the actual route from signing up to being paid. There are no hidden stages.

  1. Step 1: Create a vendor account

Register with your name, email and a password, choosing the vendor account type. You can sign in immediately — your account starts as pending.

  2. Step 2: Complete your business profile

Tell us your business name, type, contact details and what you sell. This is the record our verification team reviews.

  3. Step 3: Submit the required verification documents

Upload your documents from the dashboard. They are visible to the verification team only and are used to confirm who you are.

  4. Step 4: Wait for vendor approval

An administrator reviews your profile and documents and approves, rejects or asks for more. You are notified of the decision, and a rejection tells you why.

  5. Step 5: Create and submit your store for review

After approval you can set up your storefront — name, description, logo, banner and contact details — and submit it for review.

  6. Step 6: Add products for moderation

List products with images, descriptions, prices and stock. Each one is reviewed before it appears publicly.

  7. Step 7: Receive and fulfil orders

Paid orders arrive in your dashboard. You prepare and fulfil them, updating the status as you go so the customer can follow along.

  8. Step 8: Track earnings and request eligible payouts

Each sale creates an earnings record. Once an earning becomes eligible you can request a payout of your available balance.

Verification

What verification may require

Requirements vary by vendor type and by what you intend to sell, so this is what may be requested rather than a single checklist that applies to everyone. You will be told exactly what is needed for your application.

  • Valid identity documentation
  • Business or trading information
  • Contact details
  • Bank-account details for payouts
  • Store information
  • Product information
  • Regulatory documents for controlled or restricted categories

Documents are uploaded through your dashboard and are used to confirm your identity and eligibility.

Your storefront

How store review works

  • Your store starts as a private draft that only you can see.
  • When it is ready, you submit it for review.
  • While it is waiting for a decision it stays non-public.
  • Once approved, your store becomes visible to customers as an active store.
  • If your store is rejected you are told why, and you can correct it and submit it again.
  • Editing details that change how your store appears publicly sends it back for another review.
  • You can temporarily deactivate an approved store — for example while you are away — and reactivate it later.

Your catalogue

How product moderation works

  • Products are reviewed before publication

A new product is checked before it can appear to customers.

  • You stay in control of day-to-day details

Stock levels, prices and product information remain yours to manage.

  • Significant changes are reviewed again

Materially changing what a customer sees returns the product to review.

  • Store visibility governs product visibility

If your store is not public — suspended, unapproved or deactivated — its products are not publicly visible either.

Earnings

Commission, earnings and payouts

Commission and deductions

Applicable marketplace charges are disclosed transparently and may vary by product category or commercial arrangement. Your dashboard shows each sale, applicable deductions and the net amount credited to your earnings.

The commission configuration held in the marketplace system is the source of truth for what is deducted from any given sale.

When earnings become eligible

Earnings become eligible for payout after the order has been delivered and the applicable holding period has ended.

The holding period is currently 7 days, so an earning becomes eligible once 7 days have passed since delivery. Your dashboard shows the date each held earning becomes available.

Minimum payout

Payout requests are available once your eligible balance meets the marketplace’s minimum payout requirement.

The minimum is currently ₦5,000. Your dashboard shows your eligible balance and how much more is needed.

How payouts are processed

  • Eligible vendors request payouts from the vendor dashboard.
  • Each request is reviewed before it is paid.
  • Earnings claimed by one request cannot be included in another.
  • Processing and paid statuses are visible in your dashboard as the request moves.
  • There is no guaranteed weekly or monthly payment day.

Responsibility

Who fulfils orders

Vendors are responsible for preparing and fulfilling accepted orders during the first release of the marketplace. The platform provides order records, fulfilment statuses, customer updates and administrative oversight.

In practice that means you arrange delivery to the customer yourself. Marketplace does not operate a delivery fleet, does not store your stock in a warehouse and does not currently handle cross-border shipping or settlement in other currencies. If that changes it will be announced to vendors — it is not part of this release.

Support

Support for vendors

  • Onboarding assistance
  • Store-setup guidance
  • Product-listing support
  • Order and return assistance
  • Payout-support tickets
  • Account and verification support

Approved vendors raise support requests from the vendor dashboard, where each conversation is tracked to resolution.
